7/26/2017  Follett Corporation becomes a customer Topco Indirect   Topco Indirect welcomes the Follett Corporation as its latest customer. Based in Westchester, IL, Follett is a privately held retailer and wholesaler in the education marketplace with sales over $3 billion.  Follett serves over half of the students in the US, and works with 80,000 schools as a leading provider of education technology, services and print plus digital content. 7/11/2017 Weis Markets' TMS solution from Topco highlighted in Logistics Management publication  In 2014, Weis Markets started looking for a way to gain efficiencies in its operations and improve oversight and visibility of its inbound freight logistics. To help find a solution, they needed a partner to help build their managed transportation program so they reached out to Topco Indirect’s Logistics & Distribution (L&D) Team for assistance. The L&D Team worked in partnership with their preferred supplier, Kuebix, a cloud-based Transportation Management System (TMS) solution provider, to provide Weis the best solution for their needs. The Kuebix TMS solution provided Weis with the desired technology and tracking to increase distribution efficiencies as well as inbound compliance and routing. 6/16/2017 Frosty Acres becomes associate member of Topco  Frosty Acres Brands a.k.a. F.A.B,  a national marketing and food purchasing cooperative located in Alpharetta, Georgia, recently became an Associate Member of Topco Associates LLC. Frosty Acres provides national brands and private brands, such as Restaurant’s Pride, Butterful, Barista’s Cup, Up for Grabs and many more to its 80 Members. F.A.B. Members encompass broadliners, wholesalers, retailers, C-store distributors, and independent distributors located in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda. Topco Indirect’s initial focus will be to market programs applicable to their largest members with the support of F.A.B., especially in the area of Logistics and Distribution to start. 5/23/2017 Topco Indirect presents at FMI's Financial Executive Forum  On May 23, Steve Schmitchel, Vice President of Program Management & Business Development, facilitated a panel of member executives during the “The Economic Outlook for Retail Grocery” session at FMI’s Financial Executive Forum held in Arlington, VA. The panel was comprised of CFOs from Weis, K-VA-T and Brookshires who shared how they are partnering to develop data analysis solutions that improve CPG vendor collaboration. They emphasized the importance of improving profit margins through enhanced vendor performance visibility. 5/21/2017 Topco Indirect presents at ROFDA’s 2017 Spring Conference   Three Topco Indirect Spend representatives presented at ROFDA’s 2017 Spring Conference held May 18-21 where ROFDA members, their partners and suppliers convened in New Orleans. John Latham, Sr. Director of Program Management & Business Development-Topco Indirect, reviewed the strategic alignment and priority opportunities with ROFDA CEOs in order to maximize the value with Topco Indirect. As part of the HR Track, David Willett, Director, and Jeanne Rigney, Category Manager of TopBenefits were invited to participate in the HR Share Group where ROFDA members shared their needs and concerns across the category in roundtable discussions. At the end of the Share Group, David and Jeanne presented the TopBenefits offerings and how these programs can be tailored to the needs of the ROFDA membership. 5/2/2017 Northgate Markets is active customer of Topco Indirect   In late 2016, Northgate Markets a.k.a. Northgate Gonzalez Stores became a customer of Topco Indirect after a successful “proof of concept” of over $170K in savings in several packaging related programs. Northgate Markets operates 44 stores throughout Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties with estimated sales of $1Billion with stores offering traditional services such as a meat department, bakery, and prepared foods, in addition to a large selection of domestic and imported Latin American grocery goods. They focus heavily in catering to the Hispanic Markets and are enjoying favorable demographic trends within their market region; anticipating above average sales growth for 2017. Currently, Northgate is investigating several programs with the Topco Indirect team including Cardboard recycling, pallet management, and unloading services to name a few. Topco and Northgate Markets are looking forward to a strong partnership in 2017 and the potential savings opportunities across all 10 of the Indirect Spend categories.

 

4/20/2017 Topco Indirect to hosts its 2018 Summit in Orlando The Topco Indirect team will host its 2018 Summit at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando from Sunday, January 21 - Tuesday, January 23. This “invitation only” event will provide Topco members, customers and preferred suppliers with great networking opportunities through a 1 1/2 day Supplier Showcase and pre-scheduled one-on-one private meetings. In addition to the Showcase, members and customers will attend 10 category specific tracks to learn about their respective area of decision making in construction, equipment, financial services, HR Benefits, IT/Telecom, logistics & distribution, marketing, packaging, store operations or waste management. Separate industry specific presentations as well as category meetings will be added to this year’s agenda to enhance the overall value of the event. Approximately 130 supplier companies are expected to attend and over 200 member and customer attendees from 50-70 grocery retail, wholesale, and other foodservice companies across the US. 2/1/2017 Topco Partners with Symphony EYC to Provide Customer-Centric Insights and Reporting to Retail Members  Topco and Symphony EYC, the leading provider of software and services for retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers, have announced the establishment of an aggregated solution to provide Topco member retailers with both insights and reports to help drive ID store sales. Together, Symphony EYC and Topco are able to deliver an aggregated set of customer data across multiple member retailers that can be shared with their Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) partners, allowing Topco members and CPG partners to design and run better programs that ultimately deliver higher sales. 1/26/2017 2017 Not-For-Resale (NFR) Champions conference hosted by Topco Indirect  Held in Scottsdale, AZ, January 22-23, Topco's Indirect Spend Team hosted the 2017 two-day NFR Champions Conference attended by twenty-five NFR Champions representing 18 Topco members and seven customers in grocery retail, other retail, and wholesale companies. An NFR Champion is a liaison for their company with Topco Indirect, to encourage participation by their company in Topco programs. The Topco team gave on overview of 2016 and plans for program roll-outs in 2017.  Specific category presentations were given by the Category Leads from Packaging, Marketing and Waste solution. The presentations helped to begin the conversation encouraging members to review the proposed 2017 programs and understand the potential value of greater savings and enhanced member-to-member collaboration. Sprinkled throughout the agenda were formalized success stories presented by members and customers that were well received. A break-out session was also held with wholesaler attendees to discuss how to most effectively align on initiatives across all wholesale members. 11/29/2016 Central Grocers becomes a member of Topco  Topco Associates LLC welcomes Central Grocers, a wholesale cooperative based in Joliet, Illinois which supplies more than 500 independent retailers in greater Chicago and Indiana. According to Central CEO Ken Nemeth in a recent interview with Supermarket News, Central Grocers has agreed to become a member-owner of Topco Associates, saying the move would provide new products and lower prices for Central’s retailers while lowering its cost of doing business. Regarding indirect spend areas, the Topco Indirect Spend is currently in discussion on pertinent programs especially in the area of logistics and distribution. 10/13/2016 Price Chopper swtiches to Topco's Simply Done  Price Chopper, one of Topco's member companies and active company with Topco Indirect Spend programs, has replaced some of its own private-label products with the Simply Done brand in its stores in New York, Pennsylvania and New England. Simply Done is a marketing brand name created by Topco; and is availble to all of its member companies. 8/31/2016 Topco Indirect Spend Hosts NFR Champions Conference in Quincy, MA The Topco Indirect Spend Team recently hosted its 2016 NFR (Not for Resale) Champions Conference in Quincy, Mass. The two-day event provided a full agenda for the twenty member attendees comprising a mix of wholesalers and retailers. Topco NFR Champions are members or customers who act as representatives for their organization with regard to Indirect Spend programs and services. NFR Champions work closely with the Topco Indirect Spend teams to help increase participation and drive aggregation. Serving as the point person Topco, they also help Topco and their organizations work through challenges and help develop new Indirect Spend programs to fill the needs of their organizations. Topco President & CEO Randy Skoda helped kick off the conference by introducing Topco’s Governance Initiatives and providing updates on Topco’s Center Store Sourcing Commitment. Members and customers also heard from Greg Magrisi, Vice President of Sourcing, on how the Indirect Spend can use that model to lower cost, improve supplier performance and drive transparency. This message was followed up by interactive commodity presentations and round table discussions, which focused on developing strategies for aggregation and enhancing member experience. 7/6/2016 Topco Associates LLC Partners With Coretex to Support FSMA Guidelines and Cold Chain Solutions. Topco has partnered with Coretex, a leading supplier of asset management solutions for cold chain operators, to support Topco's member-owners' and customers' efforts to adopt the upcoming Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) mandates. Adhering to the April 2017 FSMA requirements is critical to the Topco client base as the legislation aims to ensure both human and animal foods are free of contamination across the food supply and during transport. 7/1/2016 Topco Indiect Spend and iGPS Logistics Launch Total Pallet Management Program. Topco and iGPS Logistics, the leading Plastic Pallet Pooling service provider in North America, have announced the expansion of their business relationship to provide a Total Pallet Management program (TPM) to Topco's member-owners and customers. Topco's new TPM program through iGPS is a complete pallet management service that involves handling all pallet platforms in the supply chain including labor and equipment needed to perform the operation. 4/25/2016 iControl partners with Topco to offer an Alcohol Payments Solution.  Topco recently partnered with iControl Data Solutions (iControl), a leading process improvement and business insights provider,  to offer Topco's members and customers an Alcohol Payments Solution. Historically, alcohol payments had been an area where retailers in 30+ states had to pay cash on delivery for beer, wine, or spirits. With a recent shift in the industry, iControl’s solution will allow retailers to facilitate alcohol payment transactions electronically.  For more information, click here to read the press release. 

 

2/24/2016  Topco Issues Press Release regarding feedback of Topco’s 2016 Indirect Summit.  Attendees gave the 2016 Summit high marks, noting the strong networking opportunities, effective roundtable and panel discussions, quality face-to-face business meetings between members and suppliers,  and good trade show layout. Ron Ferri, Executive Vice President of Operations, Tops Markets, LLC stated, “The summit was definitely value added. I have had several follow up emails already and will continue to explore some opportunities. 2/8/2016 Topco’s Indirect Spend team hosts successful 2016 Summit for hundreds of procurement decision makers.  Fifty Topco member and other retail companies along with 154 suppliers attended last week’s 2016 Topco Indirect Summit held at Orlando’s Gaylord Palms Resort (Feb 1-3). The two and a half day event included a robust agenda including ten category-specific seminars integrated with round-table and panel discussions. These well attended sessions delivered participants with program and industry-specific information in indirect spend areas including construction, equipment, financial services, HR Benefits, IT/Telecommunications, logistics & distribution, marketing, packaging, store operations and waste services. In addition to the category tracks, Topco's supplier partners displayed their products and services in the Supplier Showcase and met with attendees in the popular pre-scheduled twenty minute private meetings. During the closing ceremonies, Topco presented the prestigious Member & Supplier Awards given to those companies that demonstrate the true partnership of working with Topco Indirect Spend. Member winners included Affiliated Foods Midwest, Big Y, Brookshire Grocery, K-VA-T/Food City, Stater Bros, Price Chopper and Hy-Vee. 12/21/2015 Lucky’s Market becomes a customer partner of Topco Indirect.   Topco’s Indirect Spend team is pleased to announce the partnership with Lucky’s Market, a 16 store grocery chain that    prides themselves in promoting local farm and organic produce. 10/28/15  Topco and Aptaris partnered to release study on Supermarket advertising and promotional Practices   Topco and its partner, Aptaris, an enterprise marketing and promotions management innovator, are proud to announce results from the groundbreaking report "Advertising and Promotional Practices Among U.S. Supermarket Retailers." The recent study contains responses from a benchmarking survey of 21 supermarkets representing more than 3,000 stores and $73 Billion in annual retail sales. Results provide a detailed look at the successes from current practices in advertising and promotion along with the future direction for supermarkets. A key finding suggests nearly half of U.S. grocers are emphasizing customized content and adjusting depth of promotional discounts. 6/10/2015 Topco's Indirect Spend Solutions program showcases e-sourcing expertise, packaging services, and auctions at the Topco SuperShow.  Member attendees learned about the innovative sourcing solutions provided by Topco's Indirect Spend Solutions program including the power of on-line auctions available for both for-resale and not-for-resale products. Discussions with members focused on how the Indirect Spend Solutions team can help lower member costs across 12 indirect spend categories, support innovative business solutions, and provide e-sourcing services. In addition, the Packaging Services team showcased its ability to procure labels, film, cartons, liner boards, and paper and plastic bags. The application offers visibility into trade funds at the most detailed item level providing a comprehensive picture of net costs as well as comparative benchmarks to drive optimal vendor negotiations. 4/30/2105 Seegrid Partnership provides New Vision Guided Vehicles to Increase Hi-Lift Productivity and Reduces Manned Putaway Travel  Topco’s Logistics & Distribution team has partnered with Seegrid to provide companies with simple, affordable, flexible vision guided vehicles to be used in materials handling areas.  These unmanned vehicles operate without wires, lasers, tapes, or magnets, and provide operational flexibility for automated material flow in warehouses and manufacturing facilities. Giant Eagle, a long time Topco member, currently utilizes the Seegrid vision guided pallet trucks in their distribution center to transport 25-35% inbound pallets to identified drop locations.  Giant Eagle was challenged to reduce wasted travel time for hi-lift operators without adding costs and improving workplace safety. Vision guided pallet trucks transport 25-35% of all inbound freight.  With the help of vision guided vehicles, Giant Eagle was able to 1) increase hi-lift pallets per hour by 35%-45%; 2) experience an average savings of 1.5 minutes per pallet hauled; 3) reduce manned travel from putaway by 20-30%; and 4) report zero safety incidents. 1/14/2015  NFR Champions Conference generates Indirect Spend Management Opportunities   Held Jan 12-14, 2015, the Topco Indirect Spend Team hosted its 2015 NFR Champions Conference in San Diego, California attended by twenty-one Topco member companies and one customer.  The two-day event included a robust agenda of presentations,  two round table sessions  and a member panel discussion. 11/21/2014 New Managed Transportation Services Solution launched with Weis Markets  Topco entered into an agreement with Weis Markets to manage scheduling of all Topco and Non-Topco grocery transportation into Weis’ distribution centers plus coordinate their inbound freight shipping through pre-selected Topco carriers.  This annoucement came after the launch of Topco's Managed Transportation Services (MTS) Solution, an inbound transportation program designed to provide our customers with an integrated solution that efficiently streamlines rate negotiations, shipments, financials and business intelligence. Program benefits allow our customers to take advantage of pricing negotiated by Topco, optimize vendor unloading costs, and provide real-time comparisons of vendor CPU (customer pick-up) rates versus calculated VDS (vendor direct ship) charges.   In support of this solution, Topco’s supplier partner CarrierStore has developed a Transportation Management System (TMS), a new technology that provides complete transparency ensuring that every shipment is processed optimally.  For more information about this new program, contact [email protected]


10/23/2014  Quincy Based Employees help MA Food Bank For the 7th consecutive year, our Quincy based employees donated food and/or volunteered their time to The Greater Boston Food Bank, a non-profit organization that serves more than 394K people each year through hunger-relief agencies throughout eastern Massachusetts.   Twenty-three employees gave of their time to sort 6452 pounds of food which provided 3970 meals to needy families.  This “feel good” event is always enjoyed by those that participate to help relieve hunger among the less fortunate, and to continue Topco Indirect Spend Program’s commitment and contributions to the local community. 3/15/14  Griffin Report captures photos and recognizes success of TopSource Summit   A record number of attendees participated in the bienniel TopSource Summit. Grocery retailers, wholesalers, restaurants and other retailers attended, along with 150 supplier companies who displayed their products and services in the "Supplier Showcase" trade show. 3/7/14 Harps Foods becomes latest TopSource customer TopSouce welcomes Harps Food Stores, a chain of 79 grocery
stores located in Springdale, Arkansas with sales approaching $1B, as the newest customer.   Harps joined TopSouce after attending the January Summit as a prospective customer.  According to John Latham, Director of Business Development, "The TopSource team was able to "wow" the Harps team by showcasing our subject matter expertise.  As a direct result of those efforts, Harps signed on as a TopSource customer".  Several potential opportunities have been identified.

12/30/13  2014 Summit pushes members to "Think BIG!" 
More than 200 Topco members and customers, representing 45 organizations and 151 supplier companies, convened for the industry's biggest not-for-resale event at the T2014 Summit this week. Nearly 700 attendees experienced the Summit's theme of "Think Big," by learning about the power of aggregation, hearing about innovative strategies and sharing knowledge across 10 not-for-resale (NFR) categories. Following the afternoon NFR Champion Meeting and Stakeholder "Meet & Greet" reception, Day 1 was officially kicked off with a welcome reception and dinner, capped off with a motivational speech from 1992 Olympic skier Vince Poscente. Day 2 featured multiple business meetings for suppliers, new and experienced stakeholders, NFR Champions and Member Action Committee (MAC) members. The highlight of the day was the well attended 10 category-specific conference tracks, which provided members and customers with industry-specific knowledge and discussions to drive participation in each of the program areas. The Supplier Showcase was the highlight of Day 3. Suppliers met with members and customers in 20-minute private meetings. In addition, the Showcase featured demonstrations of Topco's Member Portal, Auction Services' Ariba tool and the Packaging Services team's display of innovative packaging solutions. 10/10/13  Outsourcing your FF&E sourcing needs allows you to focus on your core business.  To keep pace in the competitive retail supermarket industry, grocers continue to build, remodel and retrofit their existing stores to attract current and future customers by keeping up with the latest equipment and technology. In this process, grocers need to coordinate the movement of equipment and other items from the manufacturer to the respective project site, not necessarily to the store, which isn't an easy task. Today's existing paradigm involves several steps to assure the equipment reaches the appropriate destination. First, grocers spend significant time and energy purchasing equipment from manufacturers, and vetting quality and price. Once the equipment order is complete, the grocer then tasks the manufacturer with the responsibility of determining the appropriate mode of transportation and getting the equipment to the specified destination on time. It's in that hand-off to the manufacturer where the typical grocer loses control of costs and timing of deliveries. 8/15/13 CHA joins Topco's Indirect Spend Program   Topco has announced a new partnership with the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA), with a three year agreement now in effect. CHA is a trade association representing more than 140 hospital and healthcare-related facilities in the New England area. Although CHA currently has an internal group purchasing program, the ”CHA Shared Service Program” which primarily focuses on medical related items, by partnering with Topco, CHA can expand its portfolio of services to include operational and indirect products and services. The TopSource strategic sourcing team will work directly with individual CHA member companies to support their sourcing needs. TopSource will explore opportunities to aggregate the total CHA member spend in specific non-medical commodities needed by indivdual hospitals. An extensive list of product and services opportunities has been developed. CHA members can choose from this list according to their needs, or develop a custom program to target specific non-medical products and services. The CHA-TopSource partnership is a result of the highly successful Griffin Hospital-Topco partnership, in effect for several years. Griffin Hospital is a CHA member. 


8/7/13  CUSP locks in a 3 year electricity deal with Topco's Indirect Spend Program   The Cooperative For Union Services & Products (CUSP) locked in a 3 year fixed pricing contract for all three CUSP member Unions covering 5 locations owned by these Unions. Topco was able to save CUSP $138,512 compared to the published future rates they would have paid over the next few months if they continued to employ the same purchasing strategy.

5/21/13  Packaging Service and Not-for-Resale items showcased at Topco Supershow Topco's indirect Spend Program recently showcased a booth to display its Not-for-Resale (NFR) expertise to Topco members. This year the focus was on Packaging services and NFR products and services. 4/15/13 Topco sources one of the largest aggregation events via T-Shirt Bag  In mid April, Topco's Indirect Spend Program conducted an aggregated sourcing event for front end plastic bags, commonly referred to as t-shirt bags, which included 26 grocery, retail and wholesale companies representing a total spend of nearly $70M. According to several bidding suppliers, this event was the largest bid for t-shirt bags that they have ever seen put out to market, even when compared to Walmart. Within the $70M aggregated spend, a subset of 12 companies chose to combine their spend in a “group award lot” representing $17M in annualized sales. Those companies in the group award lot saved on average 11.5% versus 4.3% savings for those that chose to have their business run individually. The result achieved in the group award lot displayed the true power of aggregation and how companies can benefit from leveraging the collective spend and sourcing techniques to cut product costs.

3/7/13 TopSource key part of Topco's Annual Membership Conference. The Topco Executive Team played a major part in Topco's Annual Membership Conference (AMC) held each year for Topco's member C-level representatives. Key programs were presented by both companies along with an exhibition of various Topco products. 1/22/13 Topco hosts its annual Not-for-Resale Conference in New Orleans. This two-day event held for Topco's "Not-for-Resale" (NFR) Champions, sponsors and/or executives representing each customer company, included a mix of presentations and open discussion about past and current Topco Indirect Spend initiatives. The open discussion led to lively peer-to-peer sharing and member/customer input to strengthen TopSource's current and future initiatives. Topco presented an update on its Waste Solution program followed by success stories from Big Y Foods and United Supermarkets representatives, who maximize the program to help develop efficient waste removal and recycling practices. The program included guest speaker and author of The Influence Edge, Alan Vengel, who talked about the importance of influence using interactive role playing as part of his overall presentation. Other event highlights included an off-site demonstration of Topco's tractor truck and fun activities.


1/9/13  New Union Cooperative Partners With Topco to Drive Down Purchasing Costs. Topco recently announced a partnership with the newly formed Cooperative for Union Services and Products (CUSP). Headquartered in Bethesda, CUSP opened its doors on January 2, 2013. Its sole objective is to drive down costs unions incur every day in representing their members. 3/1/12  Fred's Inc. becomes TopSource customer  Fred's Inc., a large retail company headquarted in Memphis, Tennessee becomes TopSource's latest customer.  Fred's operates almost 700 discount general merchandise stores, including 24 franchised  stores, mainly across the southeastern states. TopSource welcomes Fred's to its list of non-grocery customers.

9/6/ 2011  TopSource issued a press release announcing they exceeded $3 billion in sourced spend using its proprietary on-line auction tool. (AWI) becomes newest TopSource Customer.   Associated Wholesalers, Inc., one of the largest wholesalers with $2.38M in sales, signed a customer agreement with TopSource. 7/11/11  Food City touts TopSource in Chain Store Age for "green" solution and savings with LED Lighting  Chain Store Age, a magazine for retail executives, writes how Food City, a Virginia based grocery chain, used TopSource to provide cost savings as well as a "green" alternative by using LED lighting in several of their stores.  Food City operates 106 supermarkets throughout the tri-state regions of southeast Kentucky, southwest Virginia and northeast Tennessee.  They are planing to convert all 68 of their Gas ‘N Go fuel stations’ canopy lights to new LEDs through the TopSource lighting program.  See page 46 of the digitial version of Chain Store Age for more information by clicking here.

4/18/11 Supermarket News recognizes TopSource in Refrigeration savings and energy management. As part of an Energy Savers Supermarket News article, TopSource was highlighted regarding their refrigerated case initiative for combined customer savings and energy management. Beyond saving customers an average of 10% on their costs, TopSource did an energy analysis looking at the annual cost of each customers' refrigerated cases, walk-in coolers and freezers in kilowatt-hours of energy usage in each retailer’s region.  A key customer of TopSource  used the energy analysis last year to justify purchasing refrigerated cases with glass doors for dairy, beer, smoked meat and luncheon meat items.  This customer redesigned its refrigeration system for new stores, reducing overall compressor and condenser size to reflect the lower demand resulting from enclosed cases.  Read full article.

Nov 15, 2010 Supermarket News | United Supermarket Cuts Procurement Costs with TopSource / LUBBOCK, Texas — United Supermarkets here has realized cost savings across a broad range of not-for-resale spending since it began working with Braintree, Mass.-based TopSource three years ago, according to Scott Attaway, director of service and supplies procurement for the 50-store chain.  “They bring an aggregate element to our procurement, and that has been a big benefit to us,” he told SN. TopSource is the not-for-resale division of the Topco private-label cooperative. Among the initiatives that have yielded benefits for privately owned United Supermarkets in the past few years was a reduction in costs for processing interchange fees — the charges retailers pay on each credit- and debit-card transaction. “That was one of our early big wins,” Attaway said. “We were in the 60% to 70% range in savings on that, and that was a significant amount of savings for the company.”  Read entire article

NORFOLK, Neb. - Affiliated Foods Midwest here is commemorating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day this week by distributing plastic bags made with 40% recycled content. The bags are part of a special Happy Earth Day promotion at the cooperative wholesaler that also includes manufacturer support and other initiatives. "We thought these bags would tie in perfectly with our ads, since they are 40% recycled content," Helen Bailey, category manager for store supplies at AFM, told SN last week. The company purchased a truckload of the commemorative bags - 2,880 cases of 1,000 bags each, or nearly 3 million bags - through a sourcing initiative at Braintree, Mass-based TopSource, a division of private label supplier Topco. 04/2008 David Picarillo tapped to lead TopSource ... Dave Picarillo has been named head of TopSource. As Senior Vice President of Topco, TopSource’s parent company, Dave assumes full responsibility for the company, building on his six years of success as head of sourcing across all TopSource categories. In his previous position as Vice President of TopSource, Dave was responsible for leading the development of TopSource's overall approach to sourcing and not-for-resale spend management. Dave has more than 21 years of supermarket retail, consulting and manufacturing management experience, including Managing Director of Business Development for ICG Commerce and Senior Manager with Accenture. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Science in industrial engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
