1/26/2017 Not-For-Resale (NFR) Champions conference hosted by Topco Indirect Held in Scottsdale, AZ, January 22-23, Topco's Indirect Spend Team hosted the 2017 two-day NFR Champions Conference attended by twenty-five NFR Champions representing 18 Topco members and seven customers in grocery retail, other retail, and wholesale companies. An NFR Champion is a liaison for their company with Topco Indirect, to encourage participation by their company in Topco programs. The Topco team gave on overview of 2016 and plans for program roll-outs in 2017. Specific category presentations were given by the Category Leads from Packaging, Marketing and Waste solution. The presentations helped to begin the conversation encouraging members to review the proposed 2017 programs and understand the potential value of greater savings and enhanced member-to-member collaboration. Sprinkled throughout the agenda were formalized success stories presented by members and customers that were well received. 11/29/2016 Central Grocers becomes a member of Topco Topco Associates LLC welcomes Central Grocers, a wholesale cooperative based in Joliet, Illinois which supplies more than 500 independent retailers in greater Chicago and Indiana. According to Central CEO Ken Nemeth in a recent interview with Supermarket News, Central Grocers has agreed to become a member-owner of Topco Associates, saying the move would provide new products and lower prices for Central’s retailers while lowering its cost of doing business. Topco has partnered with Coretex, a leading supplier of asset management solutions for cold chain operators, to support Topco's member-owners' and customers' efforts to adopt the upcoming Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) mandates. Topco recently partnered with iControl Data Solutions (iControl), a leading process improvement and business insights provider, to offer Topco's members and customers an Alcohol Payments Solution. Historically, alcohol payments had been an area where retailers in 30+ states had to pay cash on delivery for beer, wine, or spirits. 2/8/2016 Topco’s Indirect Spend team hosts successful 2016 Summit for hundreds of procurement decision makers. Fifty Topco member and other retail companies along with 154 suppliers attended last week’s 2016 Topco Indirect Summit held at Orlando’s Gaylord Palms Resort (Feb 1-3). The two and a half day event included a robust agenda including ten category-specific seminars integrated with round-table and panel discussions. These well attended sessions delivered participants with program and industry-specific information in indirect spend areas including construction, equipment, financial services, HR Benefits, IT/Telecommunications, logistics & distribution, marketing, packaging, store operations and waste services. In addition to the category tracks, Topco's supplier partners displayed their products and services in the Supplier Showcase and met with attendees in the popular pre-scheduled twenty minute private meetings. During the closing ceremonies, Topco presented the prestigious Member & Supplier Awards given to those companies that demonstrate the true partnership of working with Topco Indirect Spend.
